Live Wire Radio!!
June 3 Live Wire! at the Aladdin Features Chuck Barris and Richard Russo

Portland’s favorite radio show returns to the Aladdin on June 3rd for their Spring Season wrap-up with TV personalities, writers, foodies, and music. Please note that doors for this show are at 6:30 pm.

MICHAEL CURRY is one of the world’s leading production designers. He works widely in both conceptual and technical development with the foremost entertainment companies such as Cirque du Soleil, the Metropolitan Opera, London’s Royal National Theatre, Disney Theatrical Productions, LA Opera, and Universal Pictures.

RICHARD RUSSO is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “Empire Falls.” Among his other books are “Mohawk,” “Bridge of Sighs,” and “Nobody’s Fool,” which became a movie with Paul Newman.

If you love eating local, seek adventure, and want a bit of plein aire with your meal, Erika Polmar has just the dinner for you: the Plate and Pitchfork dinner series creator pairs award-winning chefs with farmers and ranchers to serve up a locavore's paradise of gourmet meals on-site in fields across the state. Joined by James Beard award-winner Vitaly Paley (Paley's Place), they'll talk about the benefits of knowing who grows, raises or in some cases IS your food, and share a few hair-raising stories from the field - literally.

JOHN RODERICK is the frontman for Seattle’s The Long Winters. He writes the copy for their hilarious web site, has a rabid twitter following, and claims to be a ballerina AND an astronaut.

The DIRTY MITTENS are the latest thing to come out of Jim Brunberg’s recording studio in the Falcon Art Community, and they are going to make you fans. It’s indie pop with a horn section, which will make you want to skip and act silly. And who doesn’t want that?

In addition to these fabulous guests, look for original sketch comedy from Faces For Radio Theater, music from Ralph Huntley and the Mutton Chops, and bon mots from host Courtenay Hameister.
