Winterfolk 25
For this special 25th Anniversary Winterfolk concert, we are privileged to have Peter Yarrow, world renowned singer/songwriter, author and social activist best known for his work with Peter, Paul and Mary, headlining the event.

Tom May, the Founder and Artistic Director of Winterfolk, will be joined on the Winterfolk stage by old friends Fuzzy Purcell and Donny Wright. Winterfolk began as a birthday party for one of Tom’s fans in 1988 at Portland’s Horse Brass Pub. A collection was taken up for people experiencing homelessness, and Winterfolk was born. The next few years saw the event expand to an all day Sunday celebration at the Horse Brass. Sisters Of The Road first partnered with the event in 1990. In 1994, Winterfolk moved to Portland’s Aladdin Theater, where it has been ever since.

Other performers featured at this gala 25th anniversary concert will include:
The Rite of Spring, a folk revival group that has performed together for over 40 years, and who have been part of Winterfolk since the early days.
Beth Wood, an exciting, nationally respected touring artist from Eugene.
Jim Page, a voice of reason and conscience in our confused age. Jim will return to Winterfolk with his friend and exquisite fiddle player, Billy Oskay.
Dick Weissman, nationally recognized author, songwriter of 60 years, and storyteller.
Sky in the Road, featuring Dan Rhiger and Rahmana Weist and their beautiful, world-music influenced songs.
Grammy award winner Doug Smith and his wife Judy Koch Smith
Duncan Phillips - For many years, Winterfolk was graced by the wit, wisdom and songs of the great Utah Phillips. Utah has left us now to agitate for better working conditions in the great beyond, and Winterfolk 25 will feature his talented son Duncan, who traveled with his father to Winterfolk for many years and now carries on his Dad’s legacy.
An all-star ensemble from Artichoke Music, one of Portland’s great community organizations.
