For five years now Portland Cello Project has made their spectacular holiday show an annual tradition, and every year has been full of new surprises, from unannounced special guests, to premiering countless new pieces of music. And this year promises to outdo the rest. Alongside the group’s cello-heavy, cello-focused wintry songs, the group will be one of the first (if not THE first) orchestral ensembles to perform their own arrangements of the music from

Beck Hansen’s Song Reader**, which will only have been released a few days before.

Some guest singers, and what has become the Cello Project’s usual symphonic accompaniment for shows like this, will be on hand to assist and collaborate. Among these, Jolie Holland, along with Lizzy Ellison and Patti King from Portland’s own Radiation City will warm and melt some hearts.

To keep the shows diverse, the group promises different songs from the Song Reader** each night.
